Hang Your Lights
There are 3 important steps to hang your holiday lights:
- Inspect all light strands for frayed or damaged cords. Test all lights before starting to decorate so you don’t have to take any lights back down to replace.
- Locate the power receptacle and then plan out how you will run power to your decorations before you start. Make sure to follow all manufacturer recommendations on how many light strands you can safely string together. LED lights are a great way to save money on energy costs since they don’t overheat and you can safely string together more strands than traditional incandescent lights.
- Use all purpose light clips to safely and securely hang light strands without damaging gutters or shingles. Use a decorating pole in conjunction with a ladder or by itself to decorate hard to reach roof lines and trees. For railings, try some twist-tie material or Velcro to secure light strands.
